Fan Xpert 4 software provides comprehensive control over fans, water pumps and all-in-one (AIO) coolers. Whether cooling with air or water, an Auto-Tuning mode intelligently configures all parameters with a single click. There is also an Extreme Quiet mode that reduces all fan speeds to below the default minimum to keep your system whisper-quiet when performing light tasks. Fans, water pumps and AIO coolers can also be controlled via the UEFI BIOS.
Precise digital voltage control
The Digi+ voltage regulator module (VRM) delivers real-time control over voltage drop, automatically switching frequency and power-efficiency settings. It also allows you to fine-tune your CPU for ultimate stability and performance.

Comprehensive motherboard cooling and protection
Two massive VRM heatsinks with thermal pads underneath improve heat transfer from the MOSFETs and chokes for better cooling performance. The Prime B550 series features comprehensive cooling controls that are configurable via Fan Xpert 4 software or through the UEFI BIOS. Each header can dynamically reference three thermal sensors, and Fan Xpert allows you to map the temperature of supported ASUS graphics cards to optimise cooling for GPU- and CPU-intensive tasks. There's also an AIO pump header, smart protection, and support for 4-pin PWM/DC fans.

The B550 motherboard is built on a solid foundation, providing all the essentials to boost daily productivity, so your system will be ready for action with stable power, intuitive cooling and flexible transfer options. The PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot supports up to 22110 and provides speeds of up to 64Gbps with an option to create an NVMe SSD RAID configuration, which significantly increases performance and provides the highest data transfer speeds on the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen platform. Numerous USB ports are available, including Type-A and Type-C with fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity for compatible devices. In addition, the Prime B550-Plus supports ThunderboltEX 3-TR, an Intel-certified Thunderbolt™ 3 add-on card that enables bi-directional speeds of up to 40Gbps, connection of up to six devices in a daisy-chain, and provides up to 100W of power for fast charging.
