USB (Universal Serial Bus) - a universal data bus that serves to connect a data storage solution, peripheral, or printer to a device. USB 1.1 is an old version of the USB connector; you are unlikely to find a USB 1.1 device nowadays.
USB 2.0 is an improved version of USB 1.0 with higher transfer speeds; it is being gradually replaced by the new USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2 interface. Only found on older devices these days.
USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2 (formerly USB 3.1 Gen 1 and Gen 2) are ubiquitous in modern electronics and their high transfer rates make them ideal for connecting high-capacity data storage devices.
USB-C is a new version of the USB connector that combines the benefits of the micro-USB and Lightning cable. It is also reversible and, in addition to data transfer, also provides charging.
