Our engineers had an almost impossible task when choosing the components for ZenBook 3. Their belief was to create an ultra-thin laptop with unprecedented performance, and despite some tough challenges, they’ve succeeded. The result is an unbelievably powerful laptop, with the latest Intel Core i5 processor with a frequency of 1600 MHz, 8GB of memory and a very fast SSD with a capacity of 256GB.
ZenBook 3 introduces our very first laptop display covered with full edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The ultra-slim bezel is just 7.6mm wide, giving ZenBook 3 a class-leading 82% screen-to-body ratio. More importantly, it gives you a distraction-free view of the stunning 12.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen. With its wide 178° viewing angles, superb colour reproduction and crisp detail, it really does need to be seen to be believed.
The full-size backlit keyboard stretches from edge to edge, with just a 2.1mm bezel at each side, and has a key pitch (the distance between the centre of each key) of 19.8mm, the same as most desktop keyboards. And although the keyboard is incredibly slim — 28% thinner than the previous generation, in fact — there’s still an impressive 0.8mm key travel, which is twice as much as some rivals! ZenBook 3’s precision touchpad is cleverly engineered for maximum comfort and accuracy, with a glass covering for smooth control, and incorporating palm-rejection technology, Smart Gestures and handwriting support.
Accessing your ZenBook 3 couldn’t be easier or more secure. With the built-in fingerprint sensor in the touchpad and Windows Hello, there’s no need to type in your password every time to log in. Just a single touch is all it takes!
ZenBook 3 is equipped like the Apple MacBook with only one connector - the USB-C specification Thunderbolt. Connecting to all your devices (monitors) and peripherals couldn’t be easier or faster, with ZenBook 3’s next-generation USB-C port. This supports displays, power delivery and data transfer, all via one reversible connector. The ZenBook 3 also has the classic 3.5 combo jack for headphones and microphone. We have designed a special high-capacity 40Wh lithium-polymer battery, specially shaped to fit precisely into the impossibly thin profile. We also added fast charging technology that allows you to charge it up to 60% capacity in just 49 minutes.
We live in a wireless world, and ZenBook 3 is fully equipped to give you the very best connections, everywhere. It features the latest power-efficient Bluetooth 4.1 and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi that’s more reliable and three times faster than the previous-generation 802.11n. It reaches a speed of up to 867Mb/s. Intel WiDi facilitates the wireless transmission of images so nothing prevents you from comfortable streaming music, movies, and photos to your smart TV (subject to support of WiDi).
