ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 XT O16G
The ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 XT O16G graphics card combines the AMD RDNA 4.0 architecture with 16GB of GDDR6 memory in a compact 2.5-slot design. The card uses a Navi 48 chip clocked at 2400MHz with a boost frequency of up to 3030MHz. Features include three Axial-tech fans, a phase-change GPU thermal pad, and MaxContact technology for efficient heat dissipation. It also offers a Dual BIOS with Performance and Quiet modes, along with DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b outputs.
Key features of the ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 XT O16G graphics card
- Compact 2.5-slot design ensures compatibility with smaller PC builds and efficient airflow in the chassis
- Three Axial-tech fans with longer blades and a barrier ring provide effective cooling, lower noise, and greater performance stability
- A premium phase-change GPU thermal pad improves heat transfer between the GPU and the heatsink, ensuring optimal thermal conductivity
- MaxContact technology increases the heatsink's contact area by 5% compared to standard solutions, reducing temperatures by up to 2°C
- Dual ball fan bearings guarantee twice the lifespan of standard sleeve bearings
- Dual BIOS lets you switch between Performance and Quiet modes for the ideal balance between cooling and noise
- 0dB technology automatically stops the fans when the GPU temperature is below 55°C, ensuring silent operation under light loads
- A vented aluminium backplate with large vents improves heat dissipation, increases structural rigidity, and protects the card from bending
Advanced Axial-tech cooling system
The cooling system is built around three Axial-tech fans with longer blades and a smaller hub, which provide improved airflow. The fans use dual ball bearings with up to twice the lifespan of sleeve bearing variants. 0dB technology stops all fans when the GPU temperature falls below 55°C and restarts them above 60°C at an optimal speed. The backplate includes large vents for additional heat dissipation and to prevent thermal throttling.
Efficient heat dissipation for maximum performance
The phase-change GPU thermal pad melts during operation to fill the gaps between the GPU and the cooling module, providing excellent thermal conductivity. MaxContact technology increases the contact area of the heat spreader over the GPU by 5% compared to traditional solutions, which, in cooperation with the fans, reduces temperatures by up to 2°C. The combination of these solutions ensures optimal performance under heavy loads.
Durable construction and wide compatibility
The card's construction uses ASUS GPU Guard technology, with an adhesive on all four corners of the GPU to reduce the risk of cracks. An aluminium backplate protects components from damage. The 304-grade stainless steel mounting bracket ensures even pressure and high resistance to corrosion. The 2.5-slot design ensures compatibility with smaller PC builds.
Dual BIOS and automated manufacturing
The Dual BIOS offers a choice between a Performance mode with maximum fan speeds and a Quiet mode with a less aggressive curve, while maintaining the same target performance. Manufacturing is carried out using ASUS Auto-Extreme technology, which completes all soldering in a single pass, reducing thermal stress on components and lowering energy consumption.
ASUS GPU Guard and a protective backplate
ASUS GPU Guard uses an adhesive to secure all four corners to reduce the risk of cracks, while the GPU bracket helps ensure even mounting pressure and more stability. The PCB is reinforced by an aluminium backplate that adds structural rigidity to the card, helping to prevent flex and protect components and trace pathways from damage.
Software
The ASUS GPU Tweak III tool takes graphics card tuning to the next level. It lets you tweak critical parameters, including GPU core clocks, memory frequency, and voltage settings, with the option to monitor everything in real time via a customisable on-screen display. Advanced fan control is also included, along with many other features to help you get the most out of your graphics card. The latest AMD Software unlocks your graphics card’s full potential with day-zero drivers that are highly customisable and optimised for new games.
