Design and cooling
The Magnetic Air design uses the XFX Ghost Thermal system with direct airflow passthrough, which significantly improves cooling and complements the open, floating shroud design. The dual ball bearing fans offer better durability and efficiency than other designs, reducing friction and heat for quieter operation and a longer lifespan. For advanced users, a Dual BIOS feature provides a backup BIOS in case of a failed update or reflash. This combination of advanced cooling technologies ensures optimal thermal management even under heavy loads.
Performance characteristics
The card is engineered for breakthrough performance with advanced AMD RDNA™ 3 compute units, second-generation ray tracing accelerators, and new AI accelerators that deliver incredible performance while maximising graphical fidelity. It's the world's first gaming GPU with a chiplet design, using ultra-fast second-generation AMD Infinity Cache™ technology with 64MB capacity, enabling high bandwidth of up to 2709GB/s effective memory throughput. The GPU contains 28.1 billion transistors and is powered by 60 enhanced compute units for smooth framerates even at 8K resolution, thanks to FSR technology.
Visual quality and streaming
The AMD Radiance Display™ Engine offers 12-bit HDR and full REC2020 colour space coverage for incredible colour accuracy. With support for DisplayPort™ 2.1, the card can display up to 68 billion colours at resolutions up to 8K with a 165Hz refresh rate. For streamers, the card offers next-generation hardware AV1 encoders with improved encoding performance and enhanced visual quality when streaming via software like OBS Studio. The AMD Noise Suppression feature uses artificial intelligence to eliminate ambient noise for clear communication with your audience or teammates.
Gaming technology and compatibility
The card supports AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution, a next-generation upscaling technology that provides outstanding image quality while boosting framerates in supported games. AMD Radeon™ Super Resolution (RSR) uses FSR technology at the driver level, bringing the benefits of performance scaling to thousands of games. With 16GB of advanced GDDR6 memory and a 256-bit interface, the card is ideal for 1440p gaming in today's most demanding titles. Support for PCI® Express 4.0 with a throughput of 16GT/s provides double the bandwidth of PCIe® 3.0. The AMD Smart Access Memory feature delivers higher performance in select titles by enabling a new level of communication between AMD Ryzen™ processors and AMD Radeon™ graphics cards. The card is fully compatible with Windows 11 and supports gaming features like DirectX® 12.
