USB-C connectivity
The device uses a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface with a USB-C connector to transfer data, and is backward compatible with the older USB 3.0 standard. This port facilitates a quick connection to modern laptops, desktop computers, and other compatible mobile devices without needing any adaptors. The transfer speed via this interface is up to 5Gb/s. In the box, you will find a SuperSpeed USB-C to USB-C cable, which supports full transfer speed and allows for immediate plug-and-play operation.
Backup software
With the drive, you get access to Acronis True Image for Western Digital software, which is used to manage the entire device. This program is used to schedule regular backups of your files, such as documents, videos and music. The software also includes integrated protection against ransomware attacks, which helps protect your entire computer system from data loss and damage from malicious code. The application offers a clear environment for setting up automatic backup processes.
Data security
Sensitive information is protected at the hardware level to increase the overall security of your data at home and on the go. The drive uses built-in 256-bit AES encryption to prevent unauthorised access to your files by third parties. Users can further protect access to their data by setting a custom password using the included software. This security feature prevents the misuse of files even if the physical drive itself is lost or stolen.
Drive reliability
The manufacturer constructs the portable storage from proven, genuine components with an emphasis on reliability and long-term use. The drive is designed to function reliably in common work and home environments. The device operates in a temperature range of 5°C to 35°C, while in an inactive state it can safely handle temperatures from -20°C to 65°C. These parameters enable safe use and storage of the device in a wide range of ambient conditions.
