WD 2.5" My Passport 2TB yellow

If you want to store a modest amount of data, a flash disk will do just fine. An external disk, however, has much more space available than a flash disk, even though it's similarly compact and portable. The drive WD 2.5" My Passport 2TB yellow is a HDD. An HDD is the usual disk with magnetic platters. This type is very popular due to its low cost.

What Capacity Should You Get?

HDDs are available in various sizes, some having the capacity of several TB. 500GB is considered to be the absolute minimum, although even 2TB is not as absurdly large as it may seem.

For classic platter disk drives, speed is listed in RPM (Revolutions per Minute). Weaker disks spin at 5400 RPM, while the stronger and more expensive ones have a speed of 7200 RPM. The data transfer speed is also affected by the connector type, for example, USB 2.0 can never surpass USB 3.0. This external storage uses a USB 3,0 (3,1 gen1) port.
