The complex strategy game Tea Garden by Czech author Tomáš Holek cleverly combines the game mechanics of managing resources, building a deck of cards and performing actions. Become the owner of the most fertile tea garden
On the peaks of the Yunnan mountains, unknown plants with aromatic flowers began to grow. In the provinces of ancient China, there are reports that the leaves of this plant have stimulating effects and are even said to be able to heal. The emperor therefore called in the most capable growers from all over the country, assigned each one a tea garden and set them the task of expanding the tea plantations into the valley along the Yangtze River. The most successful grower will receive his own fertile tea plantation from the Emperor.
Collect and ferment valuable tea leaves from your tea garden
In Tea Garden, you will try to build a deck of cards that will allow you to make the best possible combination of actions on your turn. The game offers a variety of gameplay options and leaves you quite a lot of freedom in choosing and combining main and side actions. The most valuable commodity in the game is tea leaves, which you harvest fresh and then let ferment. The more fertile your plantation, the better quality leaves you will harvest. Leaf aging adds a unique mechanism to the game - while fresh leaves lose their quality with each turn, fermented leaves gain it. But you don't have to worry about older fresh leaves going to waste. Just sell them cleverly to passing caravans, which are not very familiar with the quality of tea, and enjoy a successful business. The game is also dynamic due to the variable price of hands changing during the game.
