Amorphous solar panels, often known as thin-film panels, are made of silicon particles dispersed in a thin layer. These panels are less efficient than monocrystalline or polycrystalline variants, but are much more flexible and can be used on a variety of surfaces. They are also more resistant to high temperatures and less sensitive to shade. Amorphous panels are usually the cheapest option and their lower efficiency requires a larger surface area to achieve comparable performance.
