35mm lens for natural perspective and reportage
A lens with a 35mm focal length is a classic type suitable for everyday use, especially for reportage photography. Its natural perspective is useful for documentary shots, street and portrait photography, and also allows for creative work with depth of field. The minimum focusing distance of 40cm enables detailed close-up shooting and expands its range of use—from detailed shots to wider reportage scenes.
f/1.8 aperture and smooth aperture control
The Rollei for Nikon 35mm AF f/1.8 Z lens is equipped with an f/1.8 aperture with eleven blades, ensuring a fast aperture and smooth background blur. This allows it to perform well even in poor light conditions.
Rollei for Nikon 35mm AF f/1.8 Z—Advanced optics and precise autofocus
Thanks to its advanced VAF optical design, the lens is optimised for full-frame mirrorless cameras and delivers high resolution across the entire image area—from the centre to the edges. The special HFT-X coating effectively eliminates flare and ghosting, maintaining clear contrast even when shooting against the light or in low-light conditions. The modern STM autofocus ensures smooth and precise focusing with support for face and eye recognition.
Durable lens construction and high-quality optical elements
The all-metal body, weighing 498 grams, protects the lens from damage and contributes to its long lifespan. The design prioritises both reliability and user comfort. The optical system (11 elements in 8 groups) includes 7 ED, 2 HR, and 2 aspherical lenses, which minimise optical aberrations and contribute to high sharpness, contrast, and faithful colour reproduction.
Practical controls and modern lens features
The aperture ring, AF/MF switch, and programmable FN button provide clear and intuitive control directly on the lens. The metal Z-Mount ensures a solid connection to the camera and full support for EXIF data transfer.
