Single-component hygienic topcoat designed to protect against mild chemical exposure, frequent cleaning, damp conditions and intermittent high humidity. This topcoat is suitable for mineral substrates primed with 8399, or well-prepared existing coatings. It resists mild chemical exposure, chemical cleaning and varying levels of humidity. 8300 is classified as Class 1 surface spread of flame in accordance with BS 476; Part 7: 1987.

Practical coverage:
Practical coverage depends on many factors, such as substrate porosity, roughness and material loss during application.
Surface preparation:
New concrete, plaster or brick surfaces should cure and dry for at least 30 days before applying 8300. Remove grease, oil and all other surface contamination by alkaline or high-pressure (steam) cleaning. Wash the surface with plenty of fresh/warm water or high-pressure (steam) cleaning to remove all residues of contamination and ND14 or FK111 cleaning agents. Lightly abrade the surface. Remove loose or peeling old coatings. The surface must be clean and dry during application.
Instructions for use:
Stir thoroughly before application to ensure the coating is homogeneous. Ensure the air, substrate and coating temperature is between -10°C and 35°C, and relative humidity is below 85%. Substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above dew point. Below 0°C, the surface must be free from ice. Use brushes based on a mixture of synthetic/natural bristles. Thinning: -10 to 5°C: 10–15% by volume with RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633. > 5°C: up to 10% by volume with RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633.
Application and thinning (roller):
Use 8–12mm polyamide rollers.
Roller application may require 2 coats to achieve the recommended film thickness. Dilution: -10 to 5°C: 10–15% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633. > 5°C: up to 10% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633. Application and dilution (AIRLESS):
High-pressure and electrostatic airless equipment. Nozzle size: 0.011–0.017 inches. Pressure: 150–200 bar. Low temperatures may affect atomisation. Dilution: -10 to 5°C: up to 10% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 160. > 5°C: up to 15% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633.
Application and dilution (conventional air spray):
Cup gun, pressure pot. Nozzle size: 1.2–1.8mm. Pressure: 2–4 bar. Dilution: -10 to 5°C: up to 10% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 160. > 5°C: 10–15% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633.
Cleaning of equipment and spills:
Use RUST-OLEUM Thinner 160.
Notes:
