Stable power and durable construction
The power cascade uses a 12+1+1 phase digital VRM design with low-resistance MOSFETs, which ensures stable voltage even under heavy load. The six-layer PCB with twice the amount of copper dissipates heat and contributes to stable operation. The enlarged MOSFET heatsink, with three times the surface area of standard solutions, improves heat dissipation and increases component longevity. A solid construction with 2× 8-pin CPU power provides sufficient reserves for overclocking and long-term use.
DDR5 memory and performance optimisation
Support for four DDR5 slots allows for up to 128GB of RAM with a frequency over 7600MHz (OC). The board has features for easy overclocking and XMP 3.0 profile management, which enables simple performance optimisation without needing to manually tune parameters. Shielded Memory Routing technology protects data paths from electromagnetic interference and ensures stable signal transmission even at high frequencies. Using XMP Booster, you can activate pre-set profiles and instantly boost memory performance.
Fast storage and modern PCIe interface
The motherboard offers three M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 ×4 support, which are equipped with M.2 Thermal Guard heatsinks for efficient SSD cooling. This design prevents storage drives from overheating and keeps their performance at a constant level. There are also four SATA III connectors with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 support for traditional drives. The main PCIe 5.0 ×16 slot is reinforced with Ultra Durable™ Armor technology, which protects both the connector and the card from mechanical damage.
Network and multimedia connectivity
The Z790 D is equipped with a Realtek® 2.5GbE LAN card, which ensures a fast and reliable connection to the internet and local networks. Support for modern USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB-C® 10Gb/s ports allows you to connect a wide range of devices with high transfer speeds. For connecting monitors, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs are available, supporting high resolutions and refresh rates. A high-quality audio output is provided by the Hi-Fi Audio system with premium capacitors and Audio Noise Guard, which separates sensitive audio circuits from the rest of the PCB.
