The GIGABYTE B850 EAGLE ICE motherboard is built on the AMD B850 chipset for the AM5 socket, supporting AMD Ryzen™ 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors. Its ATX form factor offers ample room for expansion and it features a 6-layer mid-loss PCB for improved signal integrity. The board has a digital 8+2+2 phase power solution with 60A DrMOS modules for the VCORE and SOC sections, while high-quality chokes and capacitors ensure a stable power supply even under heavy loads. Power is delivered via a 24-pin ATX connector and a combination of 4+8-pin CPU connectors with UD Solid Pin technology for higher conductivity and better heat dissipation.

Expansion slots and storage
There are four full-length PCIe x16 slots, the first of which is a PCIe 5.0 x16 with a PCIe UD Slot design – a single-piece stainless steel shield that provides 1.7× greater shear resistance and 3.2× better retention force for heavy graphics cards. The second slot offers PCIe 4.0 x4, and the other two are PCIe 3.0 x1. For storage, there are three M.2 slots – one PCIe 5.0 x4 and two PCIe 4.0 x4, all equipped with the EZ-Latch system for screwless installation. The M.2 EZ-Latch Click enables quick installation of heatsink covers, while the PCIe EZ-Latch Plus simplifies the fitting of graphics cards. In addition, there are four SATA III ports for traditional storage.
Memory support and X3D Turbo Mode
The board supports four DDR5 modules in a dual-channel configuration with overclocking potential up to 8200MHz (OC) thanks to AMD EXPO™ profile support. The D5 Bionic Corsa technology with AI overclocking and AI-Driven PCB Design optimises signal paths for increased stability at high frequencies. The unique X3D Turbo Mode feature activates optimisation parameters with a single click, which increases gaming performance on Ryzen™ 9000 X3D processors and can achieve a similar level on non-X3D variants as their X3D counterparts – with an FPS increase of up to 18%, depending on the specific game. The HyperTune BIOS with advanced AI optimisation further enhances overall system stability and performance.
Advanced cooling for continuous operation
Thermal management is handled by a massive VRM heatsink with a four times larger cooling surface and 5W/mK thermal pads for efficient heat dissipation from the power phases. The M.2 Thermal Guard covers with small ventilation holes reduce the temperature of M.2 drives by up to 7°C compared to uncovered variants. The Smart Fan 6 system offers advanced fan speed control with the ability to set custom curves directly in the BIOS, including support for AIO water coolers.
