The future is here! The AMD Radeon RX 480 features new 14nm Polaris manufacturing technology, which pushes the boundaries of efficiency, performance and size. This seriously hot new graphics card is among the first to utilise the Polaris chip, providing enough power for you to fully immerse yourself in virtual reality while halving the power consumption, thanks to an entirely new architecture.
Until now, it has only been possible to experience impressive and immersive virtual reality (VR) using expensive, high-end cards. The AMD Radeon RX 480 aims to introduce this technology to a wider audience through a more affordable price tag. The GPU boasts 8 GB of GDDR5 memory and a computing performance of more than 5 TFLOPS, putting it on a par with competing NVIDIA Pascal chip cards, which are twice as expensive.
Apart from the modernised HDMI 2.0b port, which is capable of processing 4K at 60 FPS, the rear panel houses no fewer than 3 DisplayPort v1.3 connectors. An improved interface handles up to 5K (5120 × 2880 pixels) and 8K (7680 x 4320 pixels) at 60 FPS. The card also features support for Freesync technology and HDR, for smooth images and vibrant colours. The Polaris architecture takes care of H.265 acceleration at resolutions up to 4K, even at 60 FPS.
