I laugh at the reviews here where people return because they are not comfortable and give it as a minus. That' s not their problem, it' s your problem. I wear them for about 5 hours a day and I have not come across such comfortable headphones as the XM5 or even the XM4.
I' m writing this review after a year of use and I can happily write that they are the best headphones I' ve ever had.

I've already tried the previous models (2 and 4) and they never impressed me enough to buy. 4 especially the unusability of the microphone (handsfree) when outdoors. The 5's are completely different - when I call them on the way out and the wind is blowing, the other party doesn't even know about it (there are even examples in reviews on the web that showcase the comparison with the 4). The sound is great, ergonomics also great, connection to many devices (not looking if there is a limit, so far I haven't come across - phones, TV, PC, laptop. ), compact packaging for travel.

I remove 1 star because I cannot talk using this headset while on the metro: I can hear but they cannot. Big bummer. I tried disabling the ANC but does not work correctly either: bad quality to really bad quality of audio from the receiving end.

They may have unrecognizably better ANC than previous generations, but it's not nearly as, it's stated in reviews and videos, that you won't hear anything or silence. You can hear almost everything, the tap water when I go to turn it on, the kettle on, my colleague resting 4m away from me. It dulls the air conditioning, yes, and it mutes the ambient noise a bit, which is still clearly audible.

One step forward, one step back. See the pluses and minuses.
Compared to XM3 better construction, sound and noise cancelling.
I'm giving a lower rating because for that price, at least the functionality from the XM3 should work. When the touch control is turned off, when the right clamshell is touched, audio feedback still sounds in the headphones, and the notification LED flashes. For me this is a big minus because I use them mainly at night. XM3 did not have such a problem.

I compared with Bang&Olufsen Beoplay HX and Jabra Evolve2 75 MS Stereo. These headphones suited me best.
ANC (active noise cancellation) noticeably better than Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX
Sits well on the head and ears
ANC works even when connected via 3.5mm jack
The sound quality of the microphone is good. On the other hand, they can hear me almost as well as when using a good quality wire headset. Compared to the Jabra Evolve2 75, this is a huge improvement.
Long battery life. Even with ANC on, it lasts 24 hours.
I work with two phones at the same time. If a video is playing from one phone and a call comes in on the other phone, then the call takes priority and the sound is switched to the ringing phone.
The ergonomics of the buttons are better than the Beoplay HX.
ANC and passthrough can be switched easily with one button.
They can temporarily turn on the passthrough and mute the sound by a gesture - placing your hand on the right earpiece.
The ears are sweating in them
They don't work when charging, they turn off when you connect the USB-C cable
The ear cuffs are made of goatskin
They don't have a button or gesture to mute the microphone
They don't have a dongle for UC
The volume control on the headphones is done via the touchpad and is quite clumsy - for each small step of volume change it is necessary to move across the entire earpiece. If I want to significantly mute or turn down the sound, it's like flipping through a newspaper.
When connected via 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth is turned off
