Even though the temperature in these rooms is still at the limit where the device should still work well, it can collect litres of water in the tank and remove moisture from the walls perfectly. It's a compressor dehumidifier like a clothes dryer or air conditioner. It simply heats and cools the air inside and thus condenses the water.
The real consumption is 160W, so it will take something for a whole day of running. The 2L container fills in about 8 hours at 24 degrees Celsius and 75% relative humidity, so 12L is really a paper value. If you set a beeper on it every 8 hours like on antibiotics, you will dehumidify about 6L in 24h. When the humidity reaches the set humidity, the compressor switches off, but the fan continues to run, so it doesn't actually switch off and continues to run at 30W, humming the same and you don't know if it is dehumidifying or just blowing. It shuts off completely when it's full. And silent mode means that the compressor runs the same and the fan slows down. In this mode you can already tell if the compressor is blowing or running.
