I’ve had them for nearly two years now, and I was actually surprised at how well they sound for the price. The step-by-step volume control and the lack of a subwoofer are a bit of a nuisance, but even so, the speakers sound really good.

Absolutely great speakers that surprise with clear sound and performance. For the price of about 2089, - in action they have no competition. I was using PreSonus Eris 3.5 before and they were much worse sounding compared to MR4. I was still considering the Edifier MR3, which are 3 years newer and more modern, but at the time of purchase were about 600 more expensive.
I would really recommend the Edifier MR4 speakers to anyone with a PC. You don't have to use them as studio monitors, they are also suitable for everyday use, listening to music, playing games, watching movies, youtube. I would say it is not suitable for any other use than PC. Maybe as a DJ bug in case of an emergency. As TV speakers, they probably won't have good surround sound. They are intended primarily as near field monitors. I recommend putting them on stands that point them towards the head position, that way they will have the best sound.
I would criticise the ordinary appearance, which does not dazzle with anything, they look cheap but solid. I will mention a slight noise, which can be heard only when nothing is on and only when I bring my ear to a distance of about 20cm. I'm really not worried about it and it shouldn't deter anyone from buying. This is a normal phenomenon with cheaper amplifiers.

Very poor quality over several frequencies. The sound parasites in many songs even with low volume. It's not a Logitech speaker, it suppose to give every frequency it's written on it's box without shuttering - parasiting. Very disappointed.
I will make a complaint and return the product.

Edifier 4 - nice sounding speakers, not thunderously overbassed, so they don't disturb another room. The sound is balanced and the lower frequencies are pleasant. Use for my home sound system - max. satisfaction. They are tiny but they have a good delivery even from a player or tablet. Adjustable corrections another plus. Price is worth considering when choosing.

Ideal for listening to music in a smaller room. They take up relatively little space on the desk compared to other studio speakers. The presentation is balanced - they are not overbassed, if someone is looking for very overbassed speakers, these are not it.
The front potentiometer also serves as a switch between monitor - music, mode (slight change) and at the same time it serves to turn off the speakers (hold for 2sec).
