The high-quality 8GB DDR4 memory module is designed for powerful systems, servers, and multiprocessor PCs with ECC Unbuffered technology support. It operates at a frequency of 2,133 MHz and boasts maximum reliability in a continuous operation.
ECC technology checks transparently and in real time the integrity of data stored in the memory. It can find and fix an error in one bit and detect an error in two bits. In cooperation with ECC memory, some memory controllers can also repair larger-scale errors. Most server boards require memory with ECC support.
The memory features two individually addressable areas (memory ranks). Most chipsets have a limited number of memory ranks or a specified memory configuration for individual slots, so you need to track this data for future upgrades - if you have the full number of memory ranks on the motherboard, you will not be able to add another module even if there are free memory slots.
The "x8" chip memory modules are more affordable, but they do not support advanced server technologies such as multiple-bit error correction, Chipkill, memory scrubbing, or Intel Single Device DataCorrection (SDDC), and are therefore ideal for entry-level servers.
