Den Braven FX tile adhesive Quartz EXTRA 25kg

FX Den Braven Quartz EXTRA tile adhesive is a cementitious adhesive with reduced slip. It is water and frost resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Quartz adhesive excels in its high adhesion and tensile and compressive strength. Thanks to its extended setting time, it is suitable for more demanding conditions. It is ideal for bonding ceramic wall and floor tiles made of natural and artificial stone, tiles of non-uniform thickness such as lotto, fine-grained stoneware, and large-format tiles. With FX Den Braven Quartz EXTRA adhesive, tiles can be fixed to plaster, concrete, aerated concrete, or unplastered masonry. The adhesive is suitable for use when laying tiles on underfloor heating, on liquid waterproofing coatings, or when bonding thermal insulation materials such as polystyrene or mineral wool boards to façade masonry.

Application:
First, clean and prime the substrate. Thoroughly mix the compound with drinking water in the specified ratio. When bonding wall tiles, apply a thin layer of adhesive to the entire surface of the substrate with the smooth side of the trowel, then comb it with the notched side. Lay the wall or floor tiles into the prepared bed, applying pressure at the same time. The maximum bed thickness is 5mm. Please note, do not pre-wet the tiles or the substrate. The time during which the tiles can be laid (open time) is approx. 30 minutes. When laying outdoor tiles (frost-resistant, vitrified, or otherwise specified), apply a thin layer of adhesive to the tile with the smooth side of the trowel. Then, apply a thicker layer of adhesive to the substrate with the smooth side of the trowel and comb it with the notched side of the trowel with a minimum notch size of 6×6mm.
Warning:
The adhesive is not suitable for bonding at low temperatures below +5°C or in direct sunlight. It must be protected from rapid drying. It is not suitable for metal, plastic, and wood substrates, or substrates based on wood materials. It is not suitable for directly bonding tiles onto electric heating mats. Use is only permitted on heated floors with a gradual temperature increase, e.g., piped underfloor heating. The cementitious adhesive should not come into direct contact with anhydrite screed; a separating bridge is always necessary when using cementitious adhesives.
