Colour model

Colour reproduction in monitors or projectors uses RGB, which uses red, green, and blue (630, 530, and 450 nm) joins to display a wide array of colors. Each color displayed depends on the strength of these three colors and states either the percentages or the number of bits. With an 8-bit RGB output signal from a PC card, the range of these color components is assumed to be 0-255, while a limited range of 16-235 is sufficient for a special editing card. The RGB model can be represented as a cube, where the perpendicular edges represent the sheer depth of the basic colors. Any point in this cube then indicates the value of the resulting color using coordinates.

For video or digital photography, the YCbCr encoding method is used, where the bold pixels are described by three basic color components: brightness (Y), Cb-difference component (B-Y) and Cr-differential component (R-Y). YCbCr is not an absolute color model, and color display depends on the current use of RGB colors in the signal.
