The Garmin Instinct GPS Outdoor smartwatch has a robust, toughened polymer construction that is resistant to both high and low temperatures, to high impacts and to humidity. Thanks to its durable design it can withstand extreme conditions and still surprise you with its very low weight of only 52 grams. The front face is dominated by a black and white high resolution display, which is covered by tempered glass. The display is easy to read even in direct sunlight and it clearly displays navigation data, measured values and smartphone notifications.

Excellent Ergonomics
The silicone strap ensures comfortable wearing and easy maintenance. Unlike the fenix series, the Instinct watch does not have the QuickFit quick-change system, but if you remove the strap, the axles allow you to use QuickFit strap widths of 22mm used on the higher fenix 5 watch series. The rechargeable Li-ion battery lasts up to 2 weeks in smartwatch mode and up to 16 hours in full GPS mode.
Monitoring of Daily Activities
Smartwatches can display information about calories burned, steps taken, number of floors ascended while also measuring stress levels and sleep duration and quality, You can then transfer all the measured data to the Garmin Connect training diary, where you can view your reports daily.
Navigation in the Field
These watches allow you to record and navigate according to a pre-created route that is displayed on a blank map including waypoints. The TracBack function reliably returns you to the start of your journey. When paired with a smartphone, LiveTrack lets you select people to see your current location in real time. Routes can be created in the freely available BaseCamp or Garmin Explore apps.

By using a built-in GPS receiver and accelerometer, the watch is able to measure a wide range of sports activities in detail. You can use the preset profiles for running, walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, swimming in a pool, wild swimming, skiing, snowboarding, rowing and other sports. You can also use interval training or alarms for heart rate zones. Thanks to the waterproof construction, the watch can be worn in the shower or while swimming in the pool or walking in the rain in the countryside.
Smart Notifications
By pairing your watch with your smartphone over Bluetooth, you can display notifications of incoming calls and SMS messages. The watch screen displays both the incoming call and the caller's name and number, which is handy when you do not have the phone at your fingertips. You can also receive a notification of an incoming SMS with the name of the sender and the beginning of the message text.
Compatibility with Other Devices
Garmin Instinct can be wirelessly connected to other devices and sensors, for example, VIRB action cameras, Xero archer laser sight, Atemos dog tracking device, and InReach, a Mini satellite communicaton. The watch can be extended with new features to control them. You can also connect external sensors such as heart rate sensors, speed and cadence sensors for bicycles and the Tempe external temperature sensor.
