AlzaPlus+ Terms and Conditions

Alza provides the AlzaPlus+ service to registered Alza customers who purchase the service ("member").

If any matter is not addressed by these terms and conditions, then the General Terms and Conditions will apply.

I. AlzaPlus+ Service Content

As part of the subscription, the member may enjoy selected free shipping on goods purchased on the e-shop operated by Alza within the Czech Republic ("free shipping"), namely delivered:

  • to an Alza branch store
  • to an AlzaBox
  • via AlzaDrive
  • to selected external pick up points.

For some goods, delivery options are limited (e.g. due to bulky size). The member is informed about the available delivery options when ordering the goods or in the product details.

Other delivery options are not included in this free shipping. However, the member can use them for a fee according to the current price indicated in the shopping cart when creating the order.

AlzaPlus+ membership also includes discounts for members on selected products in the Alza application, e.g. in the form of a reduced price for selected goods. Discounts are only accessible through the Alza mobile app, available for iOS and Android operating systems, therefore, installing the mobile app is recommended for AlzaPlus+ members.

Alza may, at its discretion, also provide other benefits to the member, such as:

  • free shipping to AlzaPoints, (i.e. other Alza pick up points operated by a contractual partner)

However, these other benefits are not part of AlzaPlus+ and their provision is at Alza's sole discretion.

In the case of so-called bulky goods (e.g. large household appliances, widescreen TVs), Alza reserves the right to determine the number of items that can be delivered free of charge, but always at least one piece.

II. Time Range of Service

Free shipping can be used at any time, unless circumstances indicate otherwise (e.g. opening hours of branches and external pick-up points).

However, Alza is not liable for technical problems outside Alza's area of responsibility (e.g. network settings, internet connection problems, problems with data caps on the member's side, etc.) which may lead to a temporary interruption or reduction in the quality of the service provided.

Furthermore, Alza has the right to temporarily and for the shortest possible period of time make part of the service unavailable for maintenance and/or updates and/or upgrades to the service without prior notice or compensation.

In the event of an information system failure or force majeure, Alza shall not be liable for any deterioration in the quality or limitation of the service provided.

III. AlzaPlus+ Membership

  • 1 month standard (30 days)
  • 1 year discounted (365 days)
  • voucher-based membership for the period indicated on the voucher

Membership can be obtained:

  • by adding the AlzaPlus+ service to your shopping cart and paying the fee via the Alza e-shop or its app,
  • by placing the voucher (special code) in the shopping cart using the same means as mentioned above,
  • by paying the fee at any Alza branch store.

When obtaining membership, the member shall update his/her personal data in his/her customer account in the My Alza section.

In order to become a member, the customer must pay with a supported credit card (including GooglePay/ApplePay) and save his/her payment details. This does not apply in the case of membership activation at an Alza branch store or in the case of membership activation via a voucher provided to the customer as compensation by Alza; these methods of membership activation do not require saving the payment card details.

The owner of the payment card and the person registered on the customer's account must be the same person.

IV. Automatic Membership Renewal and Termination

A) Automatic Membership Renewal

1. Monthly memberships subscription will be automatically renewed for the duration of the next month, as well as annual membership subscription will be renewed for another year, in both cases repeatedly, until the member cancels the service or notifies Alza that he/she no longer wishes to renew the membership automatically.

2. The customer's membership status information can be checked anytime in the section Alza ›› Account Settings ›› AlzaPlus+. The member is informed in advance of the upcoming automatic membership renewal or expiration by e-mail.

3. The membership subscription can be cancelled at any time via the customer account. Cancellation only takes effect on the last day of the term for which the membership subscription was paid for (except for withdrawal pursuant to paragraph B of this Article IV).

4. If the AlzaPlus+ membership was created by activation at a branch store by paying cash or by entering the corresponding voucher without saving the payment card details, the membership is not automatically renewed and expires on the last day of membership subscription. Membership can be renewed by submitting payment card details and paying the fee or by entering a new voucher.

5. In the event of payment of the membership fee by card, the membership is then automatically renewed in accordance with these terms and conditions, regardless of whether the membership subscription was first activated at a branch store or by voucher.

B) Withdrawal (Termination of Membership) Within 14 Days of Purchase or Automatic Renewal

1. The member may withdraw from the concluded contract within 14 days of purchase or within 14 days of automatic renewal. If the member has not availed of any AlzaPlus+ benefits, he/she may cancel the contract at any time.

2. In the event of cancellation, Alza will refund the fee paid by the member; however, if the member has used any AlzaPlus+ benefits prior to cancellation, Alza will reduce the amount refunded by the standard cost of such benefits. If the standard cost of the benefits availed of is higher than the fee paid, the fee paid will not be refunded.

3. In case of withdrawal after automatic renewal, Alza informs the member that only the membership fee for the current period is refunded -- membership fees for periods that have already expired are not refunded (e.g. if the member has not taken advantage of AlzaPlus+ since May and withdraws from the contract in August, only the membership fee for August is refunded).

C) Complete Termination of the Program

In the event of a complete termination of AlzaPlus+ by Alza, Alza will refund to the member a pro rata portion of the fee paid with respect to the number of months/days the service will not be provided.

D) Alza Premium

AlzaPlus+ membership cannot be combined with AlzaPremium subscription. If a member obtains or activates an Alza Premium subscription while he/she has an active AlzaPlus+ membership, he/she will lose the AlzaPlus+ membership. The fee paid will only be refunded if the member has not used any of the benefits associated with the AlzaPlus+ membership.

E) Refunds

The money will be refunded to the member's account from which payments are made. In the event that payment has been made by other means, the customer will be contacted regarding the refund of an aliquot portion of the member fee paid via the contact details provided in their registration.

E) Membership for purchase

Membership can also be obtained as a gift as part of occasional promotions (e.g. free monthly membership with the purchase of selected products). Unless the terms and conditions of such promotion state otherwise, there is no need to store credit card details in the case of a gift membership and there is no automatic renewal of the membership; the membership expires on the last day communicated within the promotion.

V. Membership Fee

The current fee is listed in the Alza e-shop/app.

In the event of payment of the membership fee by credit card, Alza advises that the credit card details so entered will be retained for the duration of the membership and cannot be removed earlier in order to ensure the member's obligations under these Terms and Conditions. The member may only enter new payment card details in the My Alza ›› 'Personal Data, section after verification by the financial services provider or intermediary of such services.

The monthly fee will be charged to the member on a regular basis on the same day of each calendar month of the membership duration to cover the following month. If the member takes the option to pay for his/her membership in a lump sum once a year, the membership fee will be deducted each calendar year on the anniversary of the first payment (or 365 days after the first payment) of the annual membership subscription.

Upon successful deduction of the membership fee, a tax receipt will be emailed to the member.

The fee will be automatically charged to the member's saved credit card. If the card is invalid or the card payment is unsuccessful, the member will be prompted to enter a new card or repeat the payment. If payment is not made within 4 days of the first charge attempt, the member's membership subscription will be terminated effective immediately. Automatic charges will not occur if the membership was activated via a special voucher without entering payment card details or at an Alza branch store by paying in cash, even if the member has a payment card saved on his/her account.

Alza reserves the right to change the membership fee in the event that the membership is renewed (including automatic renewal). Alza will inform all customers of the change in the fee via its e-shop/app and will inform existing members by email. Any increase in the fee for existing members will take effect upon membership renewal.

VI. Member Obligations

1. Possible Restrictions

AlzaPlus+ is intended for private use only. Customers are prohibited from purchasing products or services for resale, rental, for their customers and/or members, or for potential customers and/or potential members, or for any other commercial purpose.

The member acknowledges that there may be situations when some of the Member's devices are not fully compatible with the alza.cz website or the Alza mobile app, particularly if the member is using an older version of the operating system (e.g., Windows98 on a PC) or the member's device is not set up in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The performance of AlzaPlus+ benefits may be limited on incompatible devices.

2. Membership Is Non-transferable

A member may not assign or transfer his/her membership, or any rights or obligations thereunder, to a third party, even without consideration.

3. Rule Compliance

Alza is entitled to terminate the membership immediately and without compensation if:

  • it has reasonable grounds to suspect that the member is using the free shipping in violation of applicable laws and/or good morals, or to violate the rights of third parties or to commit or facilitate criminal activity;
  • Alza reasonably suspects that the member has misused the payment card whose number is to be provided as part of the registration for the AlzaPlus+ service;
  • the member abuses, blocks, attempts to disrupt the stability of or modifies any part of the Alza website/app;
  • Alza has reasonable grounds to suspect that the actual user is a person other than the registered member;
  • the member breaches the obligations set out in these Terms and Conditions;
  • the member-consumer does not use free shipping exclusively for private use.

4. Responsibility for Login Credentials

The member is responsible for the protection and confidentiality of his/her login credentials to the customer account (especially password) and agrees not to disclose his/her password to anyone else and not to use any other member's account, name or password. Alza shall not be liable for any use of the login or password by any third party.

VII. General Provisions

1. Alza reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions, and any amendment to the Terms and Conditions shall be effective from the date of publication on Alza, unless otherwise stated in the Terms and Conditions.

2. The member-entrepreneur acknowledges that a non-substantive change to these Terms need not be notified to the member; its publication on Alza is sufficient.

3. Alza will inform the member of material changes to the Terms that are to the member's disadvantage (e.g., a change in the amount of the fee for the next period) in an appropriate manner no later than 30 days before the planned change. The member has the right to express his/her disagreement with the change within 30 days of the notification. In the event of disagreement with the amendment of the Terms and Conditions, the membership will be cancelled on the last day of the membership period already paid and will not be automatically renewed, during which time the member will be subject to the existing Terms and Conditions. The member may expressly or tacitly agree to the modified wording of the Terms and Conditions by failing to express his/her disagreement with the change within 30 days.

These Terms and Conditions are valid and effective from 22 January 2024.
