This bass-reflex centre speaker was designed specifically for use in a home cinema setup, and can be used for the main channel. It is composed of a 5" bass speaker cone with a Polymer-injected Mica (PMD) membrane and a 1" aluminium dome tweeter. To ensure better sound reproduction, the loudspeaker has a sophisticated Waveguide top. What's more, the speaker is magnetically shielded, which means that it can be placed on the TV without running the risk of stray magnetic fields compromising image quality.
The biggest advantage that this model has over most other speakers is the sound isolation on its walls. As a result, the sound wave comes directly from the speakers, and not from the distorted sound waves reflecting from the speaker walls. Furthermore, Yamaha has created waveguides which massively reduce sound reflections and increase the proportion of directly created sound waves. This results in a crystal clear, detailed sound.
