The 1:6 scale RC model of the Traxxas XRT 8S combines excellent design and race-inspired construction with the power and strength of the legendary X-Maxx. The result is an all-new Off-Road car platform with sharp steering and high stability that's even faster with the new super-powerful VXL-8S powertrain, reaching speeds of up to 96 km/h as standard! The model is designed for the ultimate driving experience. It has a low centre of gravity, a wide track and high-end components for extreme performance. The chassis is nylon with modular construction and integrated shock mounts. The design is based on the X-Maxx and is highly impact resistant. The all-metal drivetrain consists of a "Cush Drive" absorber, front, centre and rear differentials, an aluminium centre shaft, steel half-shafts and dual-bearing wheel hubs.

Modular design, nylon chassis
The modular design allows the complete front or rear section to be dismantled. In just a few minutes, you have complete access to easy servicing and setup of your model. The modularity of the car chassis greatly simplifies maintenance, making it much easier to get to differentials etc. The chassis of the model is made of composite moulding, which is very rigid and lightweight at the same time thanks to its spatial concept. The design allows hard impacts to be absorbed without permanent damage. On the underside, the chassis is protected by three skid plates that can be easily replaced if damaged.
Integrated GTX shock towers, real-time telemetry
The model uses proven technology that integrates the shock tower directly into the chassis for exceptional strength and durability. In addition, the energy is distributed into the chassis structure and damped. The massive GTX shock absorbers are precisely designed and tuned for the big model. It consists of an aluminum, colour-anodized body, solid steel piston rods with ball pins, solid springs and precision X-rings. For proper function, the shock absorbers are filled with oil of optimum viscosity. The exclusive controller with advanced electronics is equipped for real-time telemetry measurements. Using a wireless Bluetooth module (sold separately) and the Traxxas link app, you can monitor speed, engine speed and battery voltage directly in real time on your phone. The controller provides telemetry data and no additional sensors are required.
Cush drive absorption system, bearing hubs and XRT wheels
The innovative Cush drive system uses a special part equipped with elastomer silent blocks to absorb the shock of the motor. The system replaces the friction clutch and allows for a more efficient and reliable drive without complex adjustments. Suspension arms are made from the most durable composite material Traxxas uses. The front bumper and rear wing bracket have a sophisticated design with an absorption zone in case of impact. The new high-strength connecting rods incorporate large encapsulated ball bearings and are a compatible upgrade for the X-Maxx. The large 3.8" racing discs have a matte black finish, a large 24mm drift (hexagon spline) and a 17mm aluminium lock nut to securely lock it to the flywheel shaft. Gravix tyres are designed for excellent performance both on and off the track. A strong central skeleton reduces bulging at high speed.
Drive train and differentials
The XRT RC car model uses an all-metal drivetrain, taken from the X-Maxx model, which has been hard tested. The differential boxes are also the same for flawless bearing support. To distribute the power of the 4×4 drive, the model is equipped with front, centre and rear differentials. The center differential uses a very thick 20M cSt oil to harness full power without slipping under lightning acceleration. The axle differentials are fitted with four metal gears for durability and long life. Robust steel driveshafts with splined differential output safely transfer full engine power to the wheels. Thanks to the CV joint design, the shafts run smoothly in every suspension position.
Traxxas Stability Management
The Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) system not only allows you to experience power, speed, acceleration and cornering at extreme speeds, but also makes it much easier to steer and control on slippery surfaces such as dust, smooth concrete or even ice and snow. In the receiver there is a MEMS 3-axis gyro and accelerometer, which evaluates the movement of the model 100 times per second and corrects the direction of travel of the model by appropriate interventions in the steering of the front wheels. Traxxas TSM does not limit engine power - you have 100% control over engine power. The algorithms are tuned for each model separately. The level of assistance is set using the multi-function controller on the transmitter or the Traxxas Link app, as appropriate.
Recommended accessories
To make the model operational, you need 4× AA batteries for the transmitter, 2× drive batteries and a charger for the drive batteries. Traxxas universal chargers can charge Traxxas LiPo and NiMH batteries. Traxxas chargers are a simple and safe way to charge batteries. Traxxas uses the unique iD system, so you can always be sure that everything is plugged in simply and safely. There is an integrated chip in the battery connector that the Traxxas charger automatically detects and sets all battery charging parameters for you. For the normal operation of a Traxxas RC car you need bolt glue, good quality tyre glue, silicone shock absorber oil and a set of screwdrivers.
