Metal chassis frame, Trial suspension, 4×4 drive
The chassis consists of two C-shaped steel profiles connected by plastic crossbars, thus ensuring a rigid structure that minimises twisting. Heavier components such as the battery and motor are stored on the bottom of the chassis to maintain a low centre of gravity. The TRX-4M uses a sophisticated 4-point fixed axle suspension with rugged tie rods and ball stud end caps. The 4×4 is driven by fixed differentials. For extremely smooth running, the front axle features CV joints.
Telescopic shafts, GTM oil dampers, 45° steering angle
Telescopic centre drive shafts allow full suspension travel and are also fitted with CV idler joints. The TRX-4M is equipped with GTM oil-filled shock absorbers for a smooth ride and realistic handling characteristics. The shock absorbers absorb shocks and the ride is beautifully smooth without bouncing. The 45° front wheel steering angle gives the model an exceptionally small turning radius and high manoeuvrability, suitable for indoor riding or trial runs over obstacles. Compared to other models of this size, the TRX-4M has a turning radius up to 50% smaller.
Licensed bodywork, off-road wheels and tyres
The body is made of ABS plastic, which is durable and allows for a high level of detail. The body also includes a dummy spare wheel, roof rack, side mirrors, door handles, front grille and offset fender trims. LED lighting is installed in the front fender, which can be expanded with ProScale multifunctional lighting. Assembly and disassembly of the bodywork is easy thanks to the ratchet system. The design of the 1" wheels and tyres is taken from the larger TRX models, but the high level of detail is maintained even with the smaller dimensions. Foam-lined tyres with a soft compound provide high traction. The hexagon is 7 mm.
Powerful motor, control unit
The Titan 180 87T DC motor provides a wide range from low speed for technical riding to higher speeds for passing. The fixed interdental clearance is precisely defined and does not need adjustment. The new ECM-2.5 control unit integrates the controller and the receiver. The electronics are protected in a waterproof box. The following functions are included: LVD - LiPo battery under-discharge protection, easy one-button EZ-Set adjustment and 3 special riding modes. Power supply max. 2S LiPo. Powerful BEC with 6 V for servo. Precise and reliable control at 2.4 GHz. The unit is ready to connect ProScale lighting. Can be paired with TQi transmitters - basic settings only.
Recommended accessories
Everything for operation is included in the package, just add 4× AA batteries for the transmitter. It is recommended to charge the USB charger with a powerful USB power supply. For fast charging at full power and the ability to put the battery in Storage Mode (60% battery charge), which greatly extends battery life, it is recommended to purchase a Traxxas Universal Charger along with an iD charging port for interfacing. The iD charging port allows you to connect the Traxxas battery from the TRX-4M to the Traxxas EZ-Peak iD universal charger for all the same charging options and features as other Traxxas batteries. There is an integrated chip in the port connector that the Traxxas charger automatically detects and sets all the battery charging parameters for you. For the normal operation of a Traxxas RC car you need bolt glue, good quality tyre glue, silicone shock absorber oil and a set of screwdrivers.
