On-road chassis
To create the best drifting performance Traxxas used the on-road 4-Tec 2.0 200 mm chassis. He developed a new independent suspension for it, which is also adjustable. The power from the engine is transferred to the rear wheels - 2WD. In addition to hard compound tyres for surfaces such as asphalt, a set of soft compound tyres for use on smooth surfaces is also included. The bumper and brackets have also been modified and the model now uses a modern, roofless body with a licensed Ford Mustang look. In addition to the proven controller with three driving modes, a receiver with a specially modified algorithm for drifting was used. You can easily adjust drift modes and assist intensity in the app. For a smooth transition to skidding, the transmitter is equipped with a switch to activate the electric handbrake.
60° turning angle and drift modes
4-Tec Drift provides more than 60° of wheel angle at full steering wheel rotation, allowing for big lateral drifts and quick transitions between them. The front suspension is specially tuned for drifting with tie rods, steering links and tie rods optimised for maximum range of motion. The model allows you to choose between three drift modes, which can be fine-tuned using the Traxxas Link app. The innovative TSM Drift technology replaces outdated gyroscopes. Even novices can drift like a pro without any special knowledge or skills, and advanced drivers will appreciate the fine control for even more precise steering.
Stemless bodywork
The Ford Mustang's buttonless bodywork excels in durability, ease of use and sophisticated detailing. Beautiful metallic paint contrasts with the plastic elements for a stunning look and modern Mustang style. Body mounts are neatly integrated into the contoured hood and rear spoiler extrusions for extra reinforcement and a clean look. The 4-Tec Drift rides on a new rear-wheel drive platform based on the responsive 4-Tec 200 mm chassis. The front suspension components are new to provide optimum drift geometry and a wheel angle of over 60°. Drivers can also take advantage of individual settings.
Chassis 4-Tec 2.0
The Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0 chassis is made of a spatial composite moulding (fibreglass-filled nylon) that is both lightweight and rigid. Everything was subordinated to obtain the lowest possible centre of gravity. To simplify maintenance, the chassis is of modular construction. It is easy to separate the front, central and rear parts of the model. The 4-Tec 3.0 chassis efficiently overcomes bumps with oil-lubricated shock absorbers with exclusive X-rings that provide excellent sealing. Shock absorbers are adjustable - you can change the spring preload with shims, you can adjust the viscosity of the oil in the shock absorber, or you can replace the springs with others of different stiffness. Installed extra-soft springs provide maximum weight transfer to start drifting.

- Fixed tooth clearance - precise adjustment of the interdental clearance is already a breeze. The motor bed contains mounting holes that are assigned to pinions with a specific number of teeth, thus giving precise setting of the inter-tooth clearance.
- Adjustable Battery Holder - The double-height, quick-release battery holder accommodates a wide range of batteries - both flat NiMH and 2S LiPo.
- Cable Holder - The simple plastic clip for attaching cables has been replaced with a bulkhead that defines a safe path for cables.
- Waterproof receiver box - drift regardless of the weather, the receiver is housed in a box with an O-ring seal and moss cable grommet.
- Adjustable camber - rear steel links allow easy suspension adjustment to fine-tune the ride to your exact specifications
- 2WD drive - the rear wheel drive is implemented directly via a transfer case (without differential) with massive gears, 48DP module and 5° spiral gearing.
- Powerful Titan 12T motor - The model car is equipped with a Titan 550 21T series DC motor, modified for smooth and predictable performance over a wide range of speeds. The rotor at the rear of the engine contains a propeller that blows air into the engine and effectively cools it.
- Traxxas XL 5 Electronic Controller- The waterproof Traxxas XL-5 electronic controller features three drive modes, support for modern high-capacity LiPo batteries and easy EZ-Set button operation. The XL-5 controller features a training mode that limits full throttle to 50%. This way, novice drivers or children can gradually get acquainted with the features of the model and prepare for the full power of the car. Thermal protection, gold-plated connectors and incredibly low internal resistance are the strengths of this controller.
Accessories for normal operation
For the normal operation of a Traxxas RC car you need bolt glue, good quality tyre glue, silicone shock absorber oil and a set of screwdrivers. The thread or head of the bolt is covered with bolt glue to fix it and the vibrations caused by driving will not allow the bolt to loosen. The screw adhesive has a special formulation that allows the screw joint to be easily loosened with adequate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use regular instant glue, as it may be impossible to loosen a bolt glued in this way.
Tyre adhesive is used to glue the tyres to the rim of the disc. It is always necessary to ensure that the tyre is firmly glued to the wheel rim around its entire circumference. If the tire is not glued all the way around, it may tear. The tyre adhesive has a special formulation that is able to bond materials such as rubber or nylon, while at the same time making the adhesive flexible once it has set.
Occasionally it is necessary to add silicone oil to the shock absorbers of the model. Normal operation results in only minor leaks of silicone oil down the piston rods of the shock absorber. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leakage may be large. For these cases, so-called. repair kits. In the tuning parts range, all shock absorbers are supplied with extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coated piston rods. The TiN-coated piston rods are easily recognizable by their golden-green colour.
