What the game is about

In the memory game Badgers Out! your task is to roll the coloured dice and find among the puggles the ones whose tongues match the colours on the dice. The game begins by placing all 12 puggles in the middle of the table. Each player will be given a park card to collect their pugs on. The first player rolls both dice to determine what two colours of reeds to look for this round. Now comes the fun part - squeezing the puggles. When you gently squeeze the puggle, it sticks out its tongue and reveals its colour. If you hit the correct colour that rolled on the dice, you can keep the puggle on your park card. If you find both puggles with the correct colours, you get a bonus of another roll of the dice. The game continues until the first player has six pugs on his park card or until all pugs have been dismantled. At that point, the game ends and the player with the most pugs becomes the winner. Tongues out! isn't just a lucky roll of the dice. Memory plays an important role - the better you remember what colour tongues each puggle has, the faster you will find them in the next rounds.

History and creators of the game

Tongues out! is inspired by the older game Penguins from Blue Orange Games, founded in 2000. The game was launched in 2022 and quickly gained popularity around the world. Authored by Spanish game designer Roberto Fraga, known for its simple but catchy game mechanics. The visuals are by French illustrator Stéphane Escapa, whose style perfectly captures the charm of the puggles. Thanks to its appeal, the game has been localised into many languages, including Czech.
