The fight for Rome

The fight for Rome
A play about the division of Rome between rich families. Fight for Rome is an accessible strategy game based on the original divide-and-conquer mechanic that will win the hearts of ambitious patricians of all ages.
Description of the board game Fight for Rome
The once prosperous Roman Empire is crumbling. The time had come for the leaders of the leading Roman families to take territory to strengthen their power. Do you prefer vineyards or quarries? Or do you want something from everyone, plus an olive grove and an oil mill? So you and other members of patrician families need to make a good deal: Offer your opponent a territory he likes or support his decision with a gem. But make sure you get more in the end. Divide and trade territories, outsmart your opponents and trade smartly. Create a prosperous province out of parts of Rome and reach the peak of your glory. The aim of Fighting for Rome is to build a province from the parts of the Roman Empire that you share with other players. Claim landscapes with buildings from other players each round: A larger set of lands will increase your territory and a smaller one will make you richer, because you will get a gem as a bonus. Add the acquired lands to your province. At the end of the game, for each building that stands on/next to a piece of the same type of landscape, you get as many points as the number of pieces of that landscape that are continuously connected to the building.
