Nekojima

Nekojima
Welcome to the Japanese cat island of Nekojima - a place where you will be tasked with building a quality power grid for all 4 areas of the island. The game with an original game principle thoroughly tests your skill and care in building electric poles. A seemingly simple job will be complicated by a cramped playing area, cats hanging on the lines and, last but not least, the rule that no two cables can touch each other. Beware of being the one who short-circuits or knocks down a laboriously constructed power line. You can play Nekojima in competitive or cooperative mode. The co-op mode includes a single-player option, so Nekojima also works well for solo play. The board game from the environment of the Japanese island impresses with a high level of processing with an emphasis on quality materials. The lively family game Nekojima with a game time of approximately 15 minutes will entertain 1 to 5 players aged 7 and up.

Nekojima offers both competitive and cooperative modes
Do you enjoy the rivalry and competition between players in board games, or do you enjoy the shared joy of success together? Nekojima offers you both. In Competitive mode, all players play against each other and try not to be the one whose built-up power grid falls down or who crosses two cables and causes a short circuit. In co-op mode, all players play together with the goal of building the tallest structure possible. The game offers 4 game variations that make building a lead progressively harder. For example, the "Urban Jungle" variant allows a maximum of 2 wooden pieces to be stacked on top of each other, while the "Skyscrapers" variant does not allow more than 2 wooden pieces to be placed directly on the game board, so players have to build very high. Whichever variant of the game you choose, you'll have fun.

How is Nekojima playing?
You use variously tall wooden rollers (poles) connected by coloured string in 3 different lengths (electric cables) to build the power lines. Pink strings are the shortest, white medium and blue the longest. The roll of the 2 coloured dice with pictures of the island areas will determine which areas you link in your turn. You then draw one wooden cube, the colour of which will determine the colour of the electrical cable you have to use to connect the areas. Did you draw a black die? Then a cat appears on the scene, which you hang on the cable at the end of the move. Can you get it so that the cat only touches one cable? For each successfully placed piece of line or cat, place the corresponding coloured dice in the level counter. In the cooperative variant, players try to get to the highest possible level, in the competitive variant everyone wins except the player who dropped or short-circuited the lead.
