Losi Promoto-MX 1:4 RTR Pro Circuit

Losi Promoto-MX 1:4 RTR Pro Circuit
The unprecedented realism of the Promoto-MX goes much deeper than its faithfully detailed appearance - the narrow frame, rider equipment and officially licensed graphics. Even more impressive is how successfully it captures the true performance of an off-road motorcycle, a breakthrough achieved through a unique hybrid of mechanical and electronic technology developed specifically for the Promoto-MX. How these technologies work together is crucial. The Promoto-MX electronics include a 2700 Kv motor and a steel flywheel mounted in the centre of the frame. The motor spins the flywheel at over 22,000 rpm to create gyroscopic force for unmatched stability. Meanwhile, Spektrum's patented MS6X technology takes your input from the DX3PM transmitter and commands the Promoto-MX to lean, turn and control the rear wheel ride with unprecedented balance and finesse. The mechanical technology is equally impressive. Losi's development team studied the suspension geometry of full-size motorcycles to give the Promoto-MX the same off-road handling characteristics.

Experience the real feeling of riding with the revolutionary Losi Promoto-MX RC motorcycle
Rear suspension with rising rate provides excellent grip and prevents dropping out on landing. The all-new front fork design with internal spring and shock absorber can be tuned by changing the silicone shock fluid and also allows clearance adjustment. An innovative front and rear wheel braking system gives the bike impressive stopping power and halves the stopping distance compared to rear brakes only. Both electronic and mechanical technologies are why the Promoto-MX performs better at high and low speeds than any previous RC motorcycle. Off-road motorcycle fans will get the "feel" of Promoto-MX RC car enthusiasts will discover a new way of driving that will draw you deep into the heart of the action - carving berms, sliding screams, holding wheelies and throwing back.

Patented Spektrum MS6X technology
The new Spektrum DX3PM transmitter and SR6300PM receiver combine with patent-pending MS6X technology to provide unprecedented controllability. Promoto-MX drivers can maintain balance at high and low speeds, during skips and "drones", and then with simple steering movements to drive through narrow mounds and straighten up before the next rhythm section. For a more aggressive ride, use the MS6X knob to increase the lean angle.

Driving modes "on the move"
The DX3PM has three pre-programmed drive modes that you can switch between "on the fly" using your thumb on the A/B rocker switch. Dirt Mode - Allows the Promoto-MX to get enough lift without having to throttle down when going over jumps and obstacles, but also helps prevent "rear wheel drifts" by intuitively throttling down if the bike starts to get too high. Street Mode - Detects when the Promoto-MX starts to lift and quickly applies throttle, bringing the front tire back to the ground and maximizing acceleration. Wheelie Control - Get them going. Wheelie Control allows you to keep the rear wheels on a smooth surface up to maximum speed.

Smart technology
You don't have to guess how much battery is left. The LED indicators on the DX3PM transmitter show you at a glance the remaining capacity of the Spektrum Smart batteries. With Spektrum Smart technology, Promoto-MX stores and shares important performance data during the run. Upgrade to the Spektrum DX5C or DX5 Pro and get additional real-time telemetry information such as speed, RPM, current draw, controller temperature and more.

Flywheel
The gyroscopic stabilizing force generated by the heavy steel flywheel - which rotates with the motor at over 22,000 rpm - is the main force behind the engine. /min. with a power output of 2700 kW - does wonders for the stability of the motorcycle. The flywheel unit, mounted as low and as far forward in the frame as possible, allows the Promoto-MX to rotate around its centre point, improving the bike's jumping, direction changes and precision performance.

LEAN bars
Don't worry if the front tyre washes out on loose dirt. The handlebars are ready to catch it. They prevent the Promoto-MX from exceeding the maximum lean angle and help push it back into position to straighten up and exit the turn. The handlebars have adjustable stops for up and down movement, so you can adjust the bike to any surface or grip level. They also oftenhelp with crash absorption when the rear tire has traction. When the bike is on the track, simply press the throttle to get it in the right position and continue riding.

Servo saving
The servo saver's rigid circular springs, captured in composite bearing plates, provide steering consistency with enough stiffness to protect the servo. Servo saver also drastically improves the bike's performance when starting from wheelies, landing from jumps, cornering hard and pushing the front tire over rutted terrain. This keeps the wheel in place.

Narrow chassis
In order to achieve the right appearance in scale, the bike's electronics and battery had to fit into a compact and narrow frame. The requirement for a special "short" battery would have simplified the design task, but the Promoto-MX product development team wanted to use a more convenient standard size battery. The full-size 2S LiPo battery in a hard case fits in the rider's seat and is easily accessible for quick battery changes. Insert a charged battery and within seconds you're back and ready to take on your opponents.

Realistic rider figure
With boots, a brain bucket and riding gear, the rider figure is ready for the same off-road motorcycle-style action you are - jumping, riding on the back wheel, going over boulders and throwing himself around on the bike. The figures of riders of other RC motorcycles are made entirely of foam, which wears out quickly. The Promoto-MX slider has a rubberized plastic outer surface that flexes and yields in impacts and rollovers. To prevent the rider from moving around on the bike, the torso has a foam insert. This keeps the body rigid during normal operation, but still able to yield on impact.

Officially licensed Team PRO Circuit graphics
Losi has teamed up with the highly successful supercross racing team Pro Circuit to create officially licensed graphics for Promoto-MX. Since 1991, the Pro Circuit has had the strongest and most consistent team on the AMA Supercross circuit. Going back to his first starting lineup, over 50 riders rode for the Pro Circuit team, who combined for an impressive 31 AMA titles and six MXoN wins.

Stand for display, maintenance and start-up
Working on a real off-road bike is easier with a proper bike stand. So Promoto-MX must have had one too. Included is a maintenance and display stand that is modeled after an actual bike rack and is complete with graphics. To keep the bike balanced on the rack, the Promoto-MX attaches to it. Taking it one step further, a hands-free starter stand is also included. The kickstand supports the rear tyre and holds the bike upright, ready for a quick start.

Plastics with graphics and realistic details
Big or small, no off-road bike would look good without a proper set of body panels covered in vinyl graphics. Promoto-MX has everything you need - a front fender, JPA, Fork protectors, front side panel, Rear side panel and rear fender - everything looks like new, covered in officially licensed vinyl graphics, but it's also highly durable and ready to get dirty. Even small details are important and Losi has not forgotten anything. Brake and clutch levers, exhaust, brake lines, footstools, brake discs, in short, everything at Promoto-MX is sophisticated down to the smallest detail.

Frontal impact structure and rear fender
Bending a fork or tube was not an option, so the Promoto-MX product development team found a solution. The front crash structure is rigid in normal operation, but compresses until the front tyre seats into the chassis frame to absorb massive frontal impacts. This protects the front fork tubes from bending and keeps them safe and in the correct position. Rear wheel driving is also happening. A normal, fixed rear fender would take a good beating. But Promoto-MX has a solution - an articulated rear fender with elastomeric springs that deflects when riding the rear wheel to reveal a durable nylon rear bumper. This significantly increases the durability of the rear fender.

Protective surfaces and ventilation openings
The front and bottom of the Promoto-MX chassis are lined with moulded composite guards. They offer crash protection and prevent children from entering the chassis, helping to protect the electronics mounted inside. The vents on both sides of the wheel are closed in the box, but can be opened to allow cooling air to flow at high ambient temperatures.

Rear suspension with increasing speed
Just like a real off-road motorcycle, the Promoto-MX has a rear suspension with rising weight. The suspension starts to soften in the ride height area, ensuring smooth handling and excellent grip. As the stroke lengthens, it becomes more rigid to ensure proper preload during jumps and to prevent sinking on landing. The Promoto-MX is equipped with a full oil shock with an "over" type damper and is ready to ride on any surface.

Front fork and head angle
The Promoto-MX front fork has a completely new and modern design with an internal spring and shock absorber. They are designed to function similarly to conventional RC shocks, and the front fork tubes can be rebuilt and tuned by changing the silicone shock fluid. Using the counter wound upper and lower springs, the ride height of the Promoto-MX can also be adjusted using shims. And perhaps most importantly, they look amazing - just like real forks. After months of testing different trail settings, head tube angles and steering gears, the Promoto-MX product development team found the perfect balance. The 62.4-degree head tube angle provides the best balance of bump handling, jump impact, steering intervention and head shake control on all surfaces.
Brushless drive system and cable-driven front disc brake
Promoto-MX comes with the powerful Spektrum Smart brushless drive system. Its 4-pole 3652 3800Kv motor reduces power while the 85A brushless ESC adds all the controllability you need. With enough torque to tackle big triple sections - and a massive top speed of over 40 mph with a 2S LiPo battery - the Promoto-MX's drive system is great. Pulling a bike is much more fun when you have good brakes. The engine handles rear-wheel braking through the drivetrain, but as with 1:1 motorcycles, most of the braking takes place on the front tyre. To slow the Promoto-MX from the front, the front brake uses a steel disc, caliper-actuated brake pads and a servo-driven cable. It cuts the braking distance in half - just what you need to get around the next corner.
Slipper racing clutch and realistic chain drive
The firm's 3800kW inline-four engine delivers huge power and the race-inspired Promoto-MX twin-disc slipper clutch helps the Dunlop Geomax MX35 rear tyre maintain traction on unpaved surfaces. The two-position spring slip clutch is inspired by clutches, that the TLR team has used to win races around the world. It increases traction and protects the drivetrain without sacrificing explosive driving. We couldn't call the Promoto-MX an off-road bike if it didn't have a chain drive. Steel links and 70 roller pins wrap around a 10-tooth steel drive pinion and a 36-tooth aluminum hub pinion. Regardless of the conditions, the chain drive drives the rear tyre efficiently and reliably.
Ready for operation
The Losi Promoto-MX comes fully assembled, with a high quality Spektrum Smart radio system and on-board electronics already installed. Supplied with AA transmitter batteries. Just add a 2S LiPo battery with IC5 connector and a compatible charger and you're ready to ride.
Note: IC3 to IC5 adapters will not fit into Promoto-MX. A LiPo battery with IC5 or EC5 connector is required.
