RC model Jeep JT Gladiator with powerful drive and expedition equipment
The realistic body of the popular Jeep JT Gladiator, large off-road wheels with extra ground clearance and a rear expedition carrier with accessories evoke the look of a world-famous vehicle. The basis is a powerful powertrain, consisting of a 180 engine, with a multi-speed gearbox that delivers the necessary power to the wheels. The torque is transmitted from the gearbox to the splined shafts and to the direct fixed axles via worm gears. Therefore, there is no need for a brake and the torque knows no limits. The SCX24 chassis is up to any challenge with permanent four-wheel drive, 3-point front and 4-point rear suspension, that always adapt to the terrain. The realistic steel frame is sufficiently rigid against twisting, and worm gears on the axles increase ground clearance. The 22 mm longer wheelbase increases stability, while the robust front and rear axles, front pivots and steel half-shafts allow you to climb down obstacles with confidence.
Robust SCX24 chassis with steel frame and oil dampers
Like the platform of the larger 1:10 scale SCX10 II chassis, the SCX24 chassis has robust C-profile steel frame stringers that provide high rigidity and strength and keep the chassis stiff enough to withstand high axle twist. The front and rear axle consists of a two-piece moulded composite solid axle housing.For optimal handling, the SCX24 is equipped with a 3-point front and 4-point rear suspension. The rear solid axle suspension geometry uses a 4-element design that is optimized to reduce axle rotation and twisting from wheel drive torque. The ride quality is significantly affected by the shock absorbers, which is why the model has oil dampers that allow a smooth ride over rough terrain. The spring preload can be adjusted to fine-tune the level of suspension to suit the terrain.
Worm gears and steel shafts for maximum performance and reliability
The front and rear differentials are worm-geared to ensure maximum power is transferred to the axles, while also providing constant braking when the car stops. The small dimensions of the distributor allowed for more ground clearance. The high torque of the worm gear requires the use of steel drive shafts. Only these can transmit power to the wheels even on hard climbs. The front and rear drive shafts between the gearbox and the front and rear axle are splined, allow a large axial displacement and maximum torque transmission. The model is fully equipped with ball bearings in the gearbox, axles and drives. You can ride without worrying about a worn out plain bearing.
Powerful Axial AS-1 servo and Tazer 180 88T motor for precise steering and off-road performance
The key component in expedition RC model cars is a sufficiently strong servo steering with a robust mechanism. Directly above the front axle is the Axial AS-1 power steering servo, which allows for precise steering while providing protection for the gears and servo electronics in the event of a steering obstruction or front wheel impact. The Tazer 180 88T motor on the SCX24 chassis is specifically designed for 1:24 RC car models, where it and the optimally set gearbox provide the axles with the necessary torque for steep climbs.
Spektrum SLT2 transmitter with precision control and integrated 2-in-1 control unit
The Spektrum SLT2 2-channel transmitter offers a number of useful features such as throttle path adjustment and throttle control and limiting. It is ergonomically designed for long, fatigue-free rides and has a foam steering wheel for precise control. The RTR package is thus complete, including AA transmitter batteries. The model is newly equipped with Spektrum 2-in-1 control unit with integrated SLT receiver and 10A DC controller. The unit has the possibility of connecting an external controller and using the unit only as a receiver.
