The 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 VC VXD is a zoom lens with speed, precision and response among the best in its category of versatile zoom lenses, thanks to TAMRON's VXD linear motor. Even at an ultra-telephoto focal length of 300mm (equivalent to 450mm on full-frame), it focuses comfortably from minimum distance to infinity. Its object tracking is so effective that it allows you to capture crucial moments when photographing insects, animals, vehicles or other moving objects.
Maximum magnification ratio 1 : 2
At the wide end of 18 mm, the MOD 0.15 m lens achieves a maximum magnification ratio of 1 : 2. With an incredible working distance of 5 mm (0.2 in)*, you can get as close as you want to your subject and capture the background at the same time. The lens thus opens the door to a style of expression that is characteristic of wide-angle macro photography.
*When shooting with a MOD of 0.15 m at the wide end, the distance between the subject and the front of the lens is approximately 5 mm (0.2 in). Be careful that the front member of the lens does not touch the subject when shooting with the MOD.

The optical design includes several special optical elements, namely four LD (Low Dispersion) and three hybrid aspherical optical elements. Using AI technology, the lens selects the nature of compensation for shooting videos at focal lengths of 70mm or less.

The aperture of the TAMRON 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD is designed to maintain a smooth, circular shape even when stopped down two stops from full aperture. This creates a softly blurred background with a nice bokeh. LD members help reduce chromatic aberration, which reduces image sharpness. Glass with a low dispersion index has less tendency to split the light rays into a spectrum of colours, which allows effective compensation for longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration, which is a problem especially with wide-angle and telephoto lenses.
Zoom Lock switch
