Organic MCT Oil C8 & C10 comes from 100% organic coconut and is certified organic by the Soil Association. Once the coconuts are harvested, they go through a gentle steam distillation process. Through this process, MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) are extracted, which have beneficial properties related to many areas in the body.
MCT fatty acids are metabolized in the body in a different way than LCTs (long chain). They do not require protein binding and are therefore preferred by the body as a primary energy source. This means they are metabolized faster and not stored as fat stores. Therefore, they can be used especially in reduction diets.
MCT oil Viridian consists of four triglycerides - C6 (caproic acid), C8 (caprylic acid), C10 (capric acid) and C12 (lauric acid). MCT C8 and C10 have been extensively researched and mapped as the most effective and beneficial. Viridian MCT oil is therefore high in both C8 and C10.
