Petzl SM'D twist-lock is a compact D-shaped carabiner. It offers high versatility of use, whether connecting a belay device, pulley or at the end of a loop. It is made of aluminium, which makes it very light. It stands out for its easy handling, even when wearing gloves, which all climbers will appreciate. This is made possible in particular by its D shape. The H-shaped cross-section reduces the weight with the same strength, facilitates gripping and protects the carabiner marking against damage or abrasion. The Petzl SM'D twist-lock is equipped with a Key Lock system to prevent accidental capture. Through a small hole under the latch, the TIBLOC or MICRO TRAIXON can be attached to the carabiner with a lanyard, thus avoiding possible loss.

The Petzl SM'D twist-lock carabiner is equipped with a Twist Lock locking device, which makes it particularly suitable for specific situations where the carabiner needs to be opened quickly (ends of connecting loops) and for attaching a GriGri harness. The Twist Lock safety works on an automatic locking and quick release system. Therefore, in order to open the carabiner, two independent movements must be made, which increases its safety.
