OUTEQ 310lm, IP44 Multifunction Car Safe Flashlight FL4

OUTEQ 310lm, IP44 Multifunction Car Safe Flashlight FL4
The OUTEQ FL4 is an emergency torch designed for permanent storage in your vehicle. In a single aluminium body, it combines an LED light with a beam distance of up to 150 metres, a spike for breaking toughened side glass, a seatbelt cutter, a side warning light and an acoustic alarm. It charges via USB-C, and the side solar panel keeps it topped up, so it stays ready even after months in the glove box.
Key features of the OUTEQ 310lm, IP44 Multifunction Car Safe FlashLight FL4
- 5 functions in one: a torch, a hammer for toughened side glass, a seatbelt cutter, a warning light and an acoustic alarm replace several separate tools
- Dual charging: charge the torch via USB-C, and the side solar panel compensates for self-discharge when it’s left in the car for months
- See and be seen: the front reflector has a beam distance of up to 150 metres, while the side LED strip alerts passing drivers to a stationary vehicle
- Durable construction: the aluminium alloy body with an IP44 rating withstands rain, dust and splashing water
- Compact body: its 200mm length and 255g weight fit easily into a door pocket or glove box
One tool for darkness, breakdowns and escaping your vehicle
The OUTEQ FL4 is aimed at situations that usually catch drivers unprepared and at night: a breakdown on the hard shoulder, changing a tyre in the dark, marking an accident scene or needing to exit the vehicle quickly. Instead of several separate tools, one is enough—the front reflector with a luminous flux of up to 310 lumens and a beam distance of up to 150 metres is complemented by a side warning light, a glass spike, a belt blade and an acoustic alarm. It’s controlled by two buttons on the side of the head, one for the light and one for the alarm, so you don't have to remember complex button-press combinations in an emergency. It makes the most sense for drivers who often travel alone or at night and want to have signalling and escape functions permanently within reach.
Six light modes for work and signalling
The front reflector switches between high beam, low beam and strobe. The side LED strip shines in high and low modes, and the sixth mode is a red-and-blue strobe. The strong front light illuminates the hard shoulder or a ditch, while the low mode saves battery for close-up work, like checking levels under the bonnet. The side strip doesn't shine into the distance, but it diffusely illuminates the surrounding area, making it useful as a work light where a narrow beam would just be dazzling. After prolonged use at full power, the head heats up, which is indicated by the HOT marking directly on the body.
Side warning light for a stationary vehicle
The side LED strip runs along the entire body of the torch, so it's visible from the side and at sharp angles where a front reflector aimed into the distance would go unnoticed. On the hard shoulder, it marks your stationary vehicle or the area where you are working, helping passing drivers understand what to avoid sooner. The red-and-blue strobe is more conspicuous, but on public roads, blue and red warning lights are reserved for emergency service vehicles, so this mode should only be used off-road, for example, on private property. The torch doesn't replace mandatory vehicle equipment but complements it with an active light signal that is seen earlier.
Spike for breaking toughened side glass
The spike on the torch head is used for the emergency breaking of toughened side glass, meaning windows that shatter into small fragments upon impact. It's not sufficient for windscreens—windscreens are always laminated—nor will it break through laminated side windows, which manufacturers fit in some newer cars. The type of glazing is usually printed in small letters in the corner of the window, so you can check it on your car before relying on this feature. The spike is permanently exposed, nothing needs to be flipped out or unscrewed before use, and the blow should be directed to the corner of the window, not the middle of the surface.
Belt cutter and acoustic alarm
The blade concealed in the head cuts through a seatbelt that cannot be unbuckled after an accident because the lock is jammed or a deformed interior is pressing on it. It runs in a narrow groove, so there's no risk of cutting yourself during normal handling, and the blade doesn't need to be flipped out. You cut by pulling it across the strap in a single motion. An integrated buzzer with three sound modes attracts attention when the car ends up around a bend or in a ditch and the light itself isn't noticed. The sound travels where the eye cannot see—in fog, dense vegetation, or over a rise in the terrain.
Charging via USB-C and solar panel
The torch is charged via a USB-C connector with a 5V⎓1A input, so a standard phone charger or a car's USB port is sufficient. The side solar panel serves as a maintenance power source: during the weeks the torch sits in the glove box, it compensates for self-discharge, but a full charge from a depleted state can only be achieved with the cable. This combination solves the main weakness of emergency equipment—a torch that is dead right when you need it. Inside is a built-in 18650 cell with a capacity of 2000mAh; Li-ion cells don't tolerate high temperatures well, so in summer, a door pocket or glove box is better for the torch than the dashboard in direct sunlight.
Dimensions, body and placement in the car
A length of 200mm, a cross-section of 45×33mm and a weight of 255g keep the FL4 in a format that fits into a door pocket, glove box or centre console. The aluminium alloy body gives the torch the strength required for the hammer function, and the IP44 rating protects the electronics from rain, dust and splashing water—it is not intended for submersion. For a tool with an escape function, placement matters: keeping it within the driver's reach makes more sense than in the boot, as you need to be able to reach it even with your seatbelt on. The black finish doesn't attract attention in the car, so the torch can remain in its place permanently.
