JRC - Contact LR-T 12ft Fishing Rod

Maximum Throwing Load

The JRC Contact fishing rod has a value of 3.5lbs, indicating the test curve of the rod. Using it, you will find out at what load the rod bends to the right angle and derive the maximum throwing load converted to grams. 3.5lbs corresponds to 1588 grams, and after dividing this figure by 16 you get about 99 grams, which is the maximum throwing load. Of course, this expects you to cast with maximum force, bounce the load or even run. What is important is, that you will not damage the rod at all. You can also use heavier lead but then you definitely need to cast more cautiously.
