Garmin Varia RTL 515

The Garmin Varia RTL 515 Cycle Radar is designed to increase your safety on the road, as it acts as a radar in addition to the integrated flashlight and provides visual and audible warnings of vehicles approaching from behind, up to a distance of 140m. It pairs conveniently with the Garmin Edge series of cycling computers and most smartwatches to display a bar of scrolling dots when a vehicle approaches behind you. The radar can also be connected to your mobile phone via Bluetooth and the Varia app. Your mobile phone will also alert you when a car is approaching via vibration. Thanks to the colour background, you can get an idea of the speed of the approaching vehicle. Green means that the space behind you at a distance of 140 m is clear, orange means that a car is approaching you and red means a vehicle approaching at high speed. The Garmin Varia RTL 515 radar offers up to 16 hours on a single charge in daylight flashing mode and 6 hours in continuous mode. The subsequent charging time is approximately 2 hours.

Garmin Varia RTL 515 provides visibility up to 1.6 km

The Garmin Varia RTL 515 emits a bright red light to alert other drivers that you are on the road. In daylight, it is visible at a distance of up to 1.6 km. The closer the car is to you, the more intense the brightness and frequency of the flashing light will be. However, the light also offers a peloton mode, which is designed for group riding and reduces the intensity of the flashing in such a way as to avoid dazzling other cyclists. In addition, it also has day and night flashing and continuous light modes. The Garmin Varia RTL 515 reliably alerts you to an approaching vehicle and lets them know you're on your way with its bright light.
