Other external sensors can be wirelessly connected to the watch, e.g. heart rate sensing with chest belts, measuring of running dynamics, speed-sensing, cadence and power for cyclists, temperature sensors, etc.

The watch offers predefined profiles for many sports activities such as running, cycling, swimming, skiing, walking, hiking, golf, rowing and many more. When swimming in the pool, the watch recognizes the swimming method and when skiing, it automatically pauses the stopwatch while you are riding in a cable car.

Power is provided by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery lasting 20 days in smart watch mode, and up to 33 hours with full GPS enabled or up to 70 hours in UltraTec mode. Every Fenix 5 Plus Series watch features multinetwork (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo) satellite reception to track in more challenging environments (such as forests) than GPS alone. It also has a tilt-compensated 3-axis electromagnetic compass, a thermometer and a barometric altimeter with automatic GPS calibration.

The Garmin Pay service must be supported by your bank and since autumn 2018 they are available for selected VISA and MasterCard cards in selected banks in the Czech Republic.
Easy Connectivity
You can easily connect your watch with your computer via a USB connector or wirelessly via WiFi. The watch communicates with your mobile device via a Bluetooth wireless interface. The watch can also be connected to other Garmin devices, such as Varia cycling radars, VIRB action cameras, or inReach mini, which you can conveniently control remotely.
