The Black Diamond Storm 450 Dark Olive headlamp is designed for harsh conditions, offering a rugged waterproof and dustproof body and 450 lumens of light output. Thanks to the new Dual-Fuel compatibility, the headlamp can be powered by either a BD 1500 rechargeable lithium-ion battery or three standard AAA batteries. The body has an ergonomic shape and redesigned controls that include a second button for easier mode selection. Improved optical efficiency not only ensures brighter light, but also better energy saving - its status can be easily monitored thanks to a six-level battery indicator with three LEDs. The Storm 450 also has three different night mode colours (night vision) and a peripheral white light for close work - for example, switching gear in the dark just before the final ascent to the summit.

The Brightness Memory feature allows you to light the headlamp at a previously set brightness without reverting to the default full output. PowerTap™ technology allows you to quickly switch to full power with a simple tap of your finger.
Durability and endurance for harsh conditions
The Black Diamond Storm 450 headlamp is IP67 waterproof, which means full protection against dust and temporary immersion in water. Maximum battery life depends on the selected lighting mode and the type of battery used. In the highest mode (High), the headlamp will last approximately 2 hours with AAA batteries or 3 hours with a BD 1500 rechargeable battery. In medium mode (Medium), the battery lasts 4.5 hours (AAA) or 6 hours (BD 1500). In power saving mode (Low), the headlamp achieves extreme endurance - up to 175 hours with AAA batteries or 165 hours with BD 1500.
Power and range for every situation
The light output of the headlamp reaches up to 450 lumens in High mode, 225 lumens in Medium mode and 6 lumens in Low mode. The range depends on the selected mode: in the highest power mode the headlamp reaches up to 120 metres, in the medium mode 60 metres and in the low power mode 12 metres.

Some LED headlamps offer multiple levels of light intensity, adjustable either in steps or continuously.
