At the heart of the device is a dual-core SG2000 processor, complemented by 512MB of LPDDR4 RAM and reliable 8GB eMMC storage. The software foundation is the SMHUB-OS operating system, built on Linux, which comes with key tools like Zigbee2MQTT, Node-RED, Mosquitto MQTT Broker, and WireGuard VPN integrated from the factory. This lets users create complex automation rules directly in the controller's interface, with fast data processing happening locally without any delays caused by the internet connection.
Advanced wireless connectivity
The SMLIGHT SMHUB Premium (P10+MG24) central unit uses a quad-radio architecture, which combines Texas Instruments CC2674P10 and Silicon Labs EFR32MG24 chips for Zigbee and Thread protocols with 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies. A pair of external 5dB gain antennas helps to overcome obstacles and ensures stable coverage even in RF-congested environments. Thanks to Matterbridge support, connected Zigbee elements can also be easily integrated into Google Home or Apple Home platforms while maintaining local control logic.
Network connection and power options
A 100Mb/s Ethernet port provides reliable communication with the home network, complemented by dual-band Wi-Fi. The primary power source is the 5V USB-C interface, and the design also supports connecting SMLIGHT UPS backup power supplies. The unit can be expanded with an optional PoE hardware module, which enables both power and data transfer over a single Ethernet cable for professional installations.
Interface
The body of the unit contains 12 addressable WS2812B RGB LEDs and four service LEDs, which provide visual diagnostics and system status indication. The features are complemented by an integrated buzzer, an audio output, three programmable buttons for service interventions, and an infrared receiver and transmitter for controlling older electronics. These interfaces make it easy for integrators to configure and manage the system directly on-site without needing to connect a monitor.
Modular expandability
The open system and integrated 2.54mm pitch connectors enable easy connection of custom UART or I2C modules. Users can add expansion add-ons to the mainboard for Z-Wave 800 technology, 4G/LTE mobile connectivity, a microphone, or a UPS backup power supply. The storage capacity can also be expanded via the microSD card slot up to 2TB, providing ample space for storing system logs.
