Passive 3D

Passive 3D is a display technology that uses special polarizing filters on the TV screen and on special glasses worn by the viewer. This technology splits the image so that half of the total number of lines of the image is dedicated to each eye. This creates a 3D effect without the need for batteries or other power for the glasses, as is the case with active glasses systems. This makes passive 3D glasses generally lighter, cheaper and more comfortable for long viewing sessions.
