Camera Motion Detection
Camera motion detection is a feature that allows a dashcam to automatically start recording as soon as its image sensor detects movement in its field of view. It is most commonly used in the so-called 'parking mode' when the vehicle is parked and the engine is turned off. In this state, the camera is in standby mode and records only when something moves in front of its lens, such as a passing car or a walking person. After a period of no movement, recording automatically stops again. In this way, the function helps to record potential vandalism or an accident in the parking lot without the need for continuous recording and unnecessarily filling up the memory card. For the correct function of the parking mode, it is usually necessary for the camera to be connected to a constant power source, for example, directly to the car battery.
