G-sensor

The G-sensor, also known as an accelerometer, is a sensor that measures overload or acceleration. In a dashcam, it monitors the vehicle's movement across three axes. If it detects a sudden and significant change in motion, for example, due to hard braking, an impact, or hitting a large pothole, it automatically locks the currently recorded video footage. This locking protects the file from being overwritten during loop recording, a function where the camera automatically deletes the oldest files once the memory card is full. Thanks to this, important footage from a potential accident remains safely stored. The sensitivity of the G-sensor can be adjusted as needed on most cameras.
