Say hello to the new step in graphics card technological evolution! The 14nm Polaris manufacturing technology pushes the boundaries of efficiency, performance, and size. The AMD Radeon RX 480 with the non-reference SAPPHIRE Nitro+ design is a brand new product from the famous manufacturer and one of the first Polaris graphics cards. Its beefy computational power allows you to fully enjoy virtual reality without wasting energy. Due to the entirely new architecture it is twice as efficient compared to existing products.
Virtual reality is the biggest hit of the year, but this stunning and immersive experience has been limited by the requirement to own an expensive high-end graphics card. With the Radeon RX 480, AMD aims to introduce this technology to as many customers as possible, and thanks to its attractive price tag it may very well succeed. The GPU features 8 GB of GDDR5 memory and its more than 5 TFLOPS of computing power rivals NVIDIA’s Pascal chips, except those are twice as expensive.
The card's connectivity options match its modern architecture. Aside from a modernised HDMI 2.0b port, capable of transmitting 4K video at 60 Hz, the rear side is equipped with two DisplayPort 1.3 connectors. The improved interface can handle up to 5K (5120 × 2880 pixels) and 8K (7680 x 4320 pixels) image at 60 fps. The card also supports Freesync technology for smooth video rendering and HDR for excellent colour range. The Polaris architecture also provides H.265 acceleration in up to 4K and even at 60 fps.
The card uses a non-reference Dual X-sink, which is an effective solution for waste heat removal. It is powerful enough to even handle overclocking. Dual-X is newly equipped with dust-repelling dual ball bearings for each fan, further increasing its reliability. Intelligent Fan Control switches off the fans at low load, so you can enjoy peace and quiet whenever you are not playing.
