As a toy, I suppose it could be. It's good to test if one really wants to have something similar at home. Otherwise, it's just cheap plastic, lightweight. But at least the price gave me a chance to try it out. The magnifying glass is not made of glass, but of plastic (I expected that), and therefore the edges are deformed.
