as a fallback, okay. but believe me, at home you'll appreciate a classic scrolling record. it is equipped with a black opaque surface at the back and the picture is completely different. here it's just nice that you can make a really big picture. If you put the plate somewhere on the wall and preferably dark then it will probably fulfill the function. but somewhere in nature or like me put in front of the window from the inside of the apartment and hang on the brackets on the curtains. as cool but because some light shines through the window constantly it is not such a contrast. if it's completely dark then it's ok. it's possible at night. and if there was a wall behind it, then it would work even during the day in a darkened room.
