Welcome to the independent user review of the ultrahuman smart ring. What exactly is a smart ring and why did I choose the Ultrahuman brand? It is a gadget, most similar to a smart watch. It measures heart rate, blood oxygenation, steps, body temperature and many other metrics. The advantage is a longer battery life than with smart watches (read Apple Watch - I didn' t have other threads, so I can' t objectively compare with, for example, Samsung). For me, the biggest advantage and the reason I bought the ring is that it can measure at night while sleeping - and I' m also not able to wear a watch in bed, it bothers me. It' s not a sports tester like Garmin. It' s not even something that plays sports tester like the Apple Watch. It is not directly intended to measure any sports performance, it will also be a problem in many sports - for example, when holding a barbell. Rather, it monitors and measures your bodily functions 24 hours a day and gives you active feedback on what you should or shouldn' t do. It sort of evaluates your circadian rhythm (your actual day, not the hourly one) over the course of a few nights, and then it literally overwhelms you with a ton of tips. Things like " your sleep was so-and-so today, it would be nice to go exercise because you' ll get the most out of it at this time of day", " the evening is approaching, limit stimulants and exposure to artificial light". " Your sleep value was like this, it usually means you ate pretty late before bed" (tvl, what should I do, late night raids on the fridge no). In addition, it is supposed to be able to, and according to various reviews, it really works to " predict" some approaching disease. It measures your temperature. And based on some deviations, it is able to say " hey, you had a slightly elevated temperature at night, it' s quite possible that your body is fighting a cold, take a rest today and tomorrow and take care of yourself, and you won' t be sick in 3 days. " Ok, specifically about this Ultrahuman ring. There are currently XY manufacturers, only two are worth mentioning - Oura Ring (top class) and Ultrahuman ring (a newbie that gives Oura a lot of trouble) - here the choice is clear for me - Oura has a PAID FULL VERSION OF THE APPLICATION - so you buy the ring for more than thousands of crowns, and you still have to pay monthly to be able to use 100% of its functions (not even Apple can afford this). Speaking of Cena, Ultrahuman cost me 9,490 CZK (it' s a rocket, it' s burnt out, I' m not denying it). If you buy it directly from the manufacturer, you will save something around 1000-1500 CZK. However, I bought it from Alza because a lot of people complained about the ring in the first few days due to the wrong choice of size (you don' t want to deal with a complaint with a company in the USA or where). As for the size, there are clouds of them and I believe that everyone will choose. A MUST HAVE is to get a trial kit with plastic rings, and wear it for at least 1 day, especially to sleep in it - you' ll see if it fits and buy the right one according to the plastic one. A trial set with all 12 sizes costs 250 CZK on Alza, the manufacturer will send it to you for free (read for shipping, so it will be more expensive from the USA than on Alza). There are about 4 or 5 color options - gold, silver, matte black, matte anthracite and natural titanium. Personally, I have a gold one - from what I' ve read, the shiny ones (gold and silver) can withstand much more mechanical damage before scratches, scratches, etc. start appearing on them.
As for the application, I would point out only one thing - machine translated Czech. Otherwise, it' s absolutely great, it has tons of functions, but most importantly, it' s not just browsing through X data that doesn' t make sense, but it itself puts together reports for you with specific tips on how and what to improve. I really appreciate THAT. However, it still means that you have to want to find out a little and work on yourself, and on the app, to know what heart rate, vo2 max means, etc. - it' s just not for everyone, it' s not an apple watch for the masses of sheep. As for the battery, I have a bit of a complaint here - the manufacturer states maybe 5 days? Mine definitely won' t do THAT. It would give about 4 days, however - I bought it on Sunday - at about 17:00 it had 100%. On Wednesday I charged it from 25% to about 60%. Today, Friday morning has 20%. Make up your own mind about it, I don' t know if it' s good or bad - more bad for me. It is charged via such a usbC dock, charging is neither fast nor slow, from 0 to 100 it can be guessed to be around 2 hours. One last thing and a big advantage - the application is constantly evolving, so it can be assumed that there will be a lot of new functions of the ring - the HW and sensors are there for that, you just need to modify the SW.
I would recommend it to anyone who is actively interested in sports, a healthy lifestyle and sleep. For others, it' s almost a wasted 10,000.
