It's a monstrosity, it can't be assembled normally, it keeps falling apart, and the hamster climbs over it anyway.

Syrian hamster, within five minutes he learned to unplug it. I used a pair of pliers and snapped the segments together to make it work.
Within another five minutes, he learned to climb over it. He can grab himself with his paws and growl his way up. I'm not surprised mice are good climbers. I was surprised that I was such a **** that I believed they had somehow tested it.
Maybe it works on little shrimp but I wouldn't be sure. It certainly can't be left unattended.
