Simply "SYNO" after previous operation and experience with DS 218+ for about 5 years I did not consider any other solution.
The drive itself is very quiet and after adding another 4 GB of RAM (original SYNOLOGY) it is very agile even when activating other services (Synology Driver Server, Audio Station, Video Station)

Mj. very useful and well-designed Cloud Sync app - supports other cloud services in addition to Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive
I've noticed complaints about the noise level of the system - I can refute that - it just takes some fiddling with the operating mode settings. The fan at the lowest speed is virtually inaudible at a distance of about 2 m
Highly variable and scalable management of operational states (disk sleeping, operating time during the day for the system as a whole, service scheduling)
The price matches what you get and in combination with SYNOLOGY discs I think the lifetime is very long.

The 10 year old NAS needed to be replaced with a newer model and the DS224+ met all the requirements. So far, the NAS is working with 2X WD Red plus and purchased RAM from Synology without any problem. I only use 1 network card. So far it is very agile and I don't notice any slow reactions or jams. The installed system looks quite robust. The rest will be seen in a few years.
Enough power for home applications in all directions
WD RED Plus 12TB drives work without problems - I use disk mirroring (i.e. RAID 1)
With the purchased RAM from Synology, it has enough performance even when I run multiple services at once.
Good compatibility with the Apple ecosystem - IPAD/iPhone app. I also have no problems with the MacBook Pro.
Reliable two-way mirroring to the cloud (tested with OneDrive)
Download Station allows you to download files from web storage directly to the NAS.
Maybe the price, but that's relative
