It's very good as a bedtime story. Just the right size, material very nice and soft. The batteries are right behind the hard belly, so it can't happen, as with other toys, that the child will somehow break the battery wire. There is a Velcro hole at the bottom and behind it is the flashlight box. Our package was missing a screw, so the box is perpetually open. I'll have to substitute from another toy. But what annoys me the most are the lights. Primarily I bought the owl because my daughter is scared at night, so I wanted something that would shine in her crib. The owl really shines nicely and projects stars. It's not far, just close to it. You can only turn on the lights, but they only stay on for about 45 seconds. Then they go out. In case you want to switch them on again, press the button, the first red light will come on and then switch off again. This is repeated twice. After the third press of the button, it lights up again for only 45 seconds. The lullabies are triggered randomly. The first one is always a different lullaby (I admit I didn't count how many there are). On the second press, you should hear a noise. Well, it doesn't even resemble noise. It's more like a broken speaker and somewhere in the distance is the proverbial noise. Well, I wouldn't let the baby have it, but babies have different tastes, so it's enough to try. If you trigger a combination of lights and lullabies, the lights stay on for a longer period of time. Yay. You just have to wait until the lullaby plays and after about 45 seconds the owl goes out. Yes, some toys have some sort of mode to try in stores, but I couldn't find the switch anywhere. So this is how an owl is supposed to work. I believe that the owl will find its fans. However, it would take a better description of the owl so customers know what they are buying. Unfortunately, we can't return it (you know how it is at Christmas, when kids tear up boxes just to try out the long-awaited sleeping owl). Although I slightly doubt that babies fall asleep in 45 seconds. So mommy will do nothing but turn on the owl because the light has gone out and the baby will demand "more".

It projects lights for about 40 seconds.
The lights will go out. To turn them back on, I have to press it 3 times, because they turn on twice and then turn off again.

A beautiful owl that is sure to captivate children with its design, light effects and melodies.
Unfortunately the sound is slightly raspy, but I gave it as a gift and only found out about the shortage when the box was thrown away.
